Blackbird Arboriculture & Stewardship was founded on the belief that caring for trees and landscapes requires more than simply maintaining them. It requires understanding how trees, soil, water, habitat, and people interact as part of a living system.

Led by ISA Certified Arborist® and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) professional Christopher Baker, Blackbird provides arboricultural expertise and stewardship-focused guidance for homeowners, farms, estates, and conservation-minded landowners.

Our work is rooted in professional arboriculture, ecological awareness, and a long-term perspective. We help clients understand their trees, improve the health and resilience of their landscapes, and make informed decisions about the future of their property.

Our focus is on arboriculture, tree health, orchard care, ecological stewardship, habitat enhancement, and long-term land management.

We help landowners understand their trees and landscapes, identify opportunities and challenges, and develop thoughtful strategies that support healthy, resilient properties for years to come.

We do not provide:

The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist credential demonstrates professional knowledge in the science and practice of tree care. Certification requires ongoing education and adherence to industry standards, ensuring recommendations are grounded in current arboricultural best practices.

Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)

TRAQ is an advanced credential that provides specialized training in the assessment of tree risk. This qualification allows for a systematic evaluation of tree condition, site factors, and potential targets to help landowners make informed decisions regarding tree management and safety.
